In the coming weeks, we will be advertising an opportunity for a secondment and a contract position with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. These placements provide an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the regulation of health professions and to improve patient safety.
The Nurse Educator (Nurse Manager, grade 3) will be offered as a three year contract role. This position will be required to implement, further develop and evaluate the regulatory performance assessment program which includes assessments under simulation, or in the clinical setting, where there are concerns about a nurse or midwive’s performance. The role will support and train performance assessors. The role will also assist in the education of nurses, midwives and case managers in NSW about professional standards. Support and training in the regulatory requirements will be provided.
The second opportunity will be a secondment to the role of Professional Officer (Nurse Manager, grade 5). This four month secondment will cover Professional Officer leave from 10 August 2018 to 5 December 2018. This role includes risk assessment of complaints about health, conduct and performance, managing the health or performance pathways to ensure quality improvement, supporting regulatory panels and case managers, report writing, and the education of nurses, midwives and other stakeholders in NSW in relation to regulation and professional standards. Only candidates with staff link numbers are eligible to apply for this short term role.
